What each reads,
side by side.

Each page below sets out what one product reads, from its own pages, beside what Brood reads, and what happens to what it left in your mailbox when you move to Brood. Gmail's own sorting and filters come first, then products built on top of Gmail.

Gmail, beside Brood

It marks mail important partly from words in the mail you usually read. From Gmail Help, Gmail importance markers, read 9 October 2026.

SaneBox, beside Brood

Headers, without saying which, to decide what is important; the body for optional features, which it says it never stores. From SaneBox, Security, read 9 October 2026.

Clean Email, beside Brood

Message metadata and headers; its features act on the subject line. From Clean Email, Privacy policy, read 9 October 2026; Clean Email, Features, read 9 October 2026.

Unroll.Me, beside Brood

Copies of the commercial mail you receive, and information from it. From Unroll.Me, Privacy notice, read 9 October 2026.

What other products leave in a mailbox.

Some products file mail under labels of their own, and the labels can outlast them. On the Classifications page, Show my own filters names the ones below as left by the product that made them. Brood does not file into them or change them, and says of each only what its maker's page says.

SaneBox

SaneBox files mail by moving it into folders of its own: @SaneLater, @SaneNews, @SaneCC, snooze folders such as @SaneTomorrow, folders you train by moving examples in, and @SaneBlackHole, which takes a sender's mail out of the inbox and can later send it to the Trash on its own. From SaneBox Help, What is a feature?, read 12 October 2026.

SaneBox sorts after your own Gmail filters, and leaves alone the mail they move out of the inbox. From SaneBox Help, What happens to the filters and rules that I used prior to enabling SaneBox?, read 12 October 2026.

Unroll.Me

Blocking a sender in Unroll.Me moves its future mail under a label, Unroll.Me/Unsubscribed; its page says nothing of asking the sender to stop. From Unroll.Me Support, How does Unroll.Me block my unwanted emails?, read 12 October 2026.

The Unroll.Me and Unroll.Me/Unsubscribed labels, with the mail under them, stay after the account is deleted. From Unroll.Me Support, I have deleted my Unroll.Me account. Will the Unroll.Me's labels still appear in my email?, read 12 October 2026.

Mailstrom

Mailstrom keeps mail it holds back under labels of its own, [Mailstrom]/Chilled/ with a date, and [Mailstrom]/Expired. From Mailstrom, Mailstrom: Frequently Asked Questions, read 12 October 2026.
